December Reflections

Where has this year gone!? We all learn that the older we get, the faster time flies, but gosh! Slow down, will ya?

December is a month where life slows down considerably for me, which is both a blessing and a curse. To keep up my inspiration, I will for the second year be blogging or Instagramming a photo a day. I found this photography challenge last year through Susannah Conway.  The idea around “December reflections” is to “simply take a photograph every day for the whole of December. That’s it. Pause, look around you and shoot what you see. Live inside each moment. Pay attention to what’s there.” So please feel free to follow along, or even join me in this month long photographic journey!

Oh, and I can’t forget to mention that yesterday I had the pleasure of second shooting alongside the oh so talented Kelly Dean of Kelly Dean photography. Her dear friends Ryan and Caitlin got married yesterday surrounded by snowy hills, friends, and family.  It was a perfect day, and I can not wait to share the photos from their wedding with you!

Stay tuned :-D

Christopher + Nicole: Morais Vineyard Wedding

I arrived to Morais Vineyard with my good friend, and second shooter, Nic. We quickly devised our plan, and once the girls arrived, we jumped right in.  Nicole arrived first with her bridesmaids, and everyone headed upstairs to the bridal sweet. Oh my goodness, I could have shot up there all day! Everyone was relaxed, drinking mimosas, and just enjoying their time together. Backstreet boys was playing on someones I-Pod, and it really brought me back to my middle school days (has it been that long?!) All the little details came together, from the gorgeous floral arrangements to the small "something blue" flower that was into Nicole's dress. Everyone came together to make this day truly special

Soon Christopher and the guys arrived, and Nic headed downstairs to get some shots of them getting ready. Before we knew it, guests were arriving and it was time for Nicole and Chris to get married! Morais vineyard has a beautiful outdoor venue down by the pond, and it was the perfect spot for these two to exchange vows. The day before the wedding the wind had been extremely nasty, and I think we all had had our concerns about what the weather was going to be like on their wedding day. Well, no one could have asked for a more perfect day!

Nicole and Chris exchanged their vows in front of all their loves ones, then had a lovely dove release ceremony in honor and remembrance of Nicole's mom, and all those loved ones who have passed. It was truly touching.

After the ceremony, we didn't have much sunlight left, but that actually worked out well, because we were blessed with some phenomenal colors in the sky. Once it got too dark, we headed down into the wine cellar for a few more couple photos. Honestly, I think I may have found a new favourite shooting location! What a fun place to shoot!

After family formals, it was time for the fun to begin. And let me tell you, these folks know how to party! It was none stop laughing and dancing. Nicole has one of the most contagious laughs, and biggest smiles, and Chris.... oh Chris. I have never seen a groom dance and get down like Chris! It was fantastic!

Nicole and Christopher's wedding was a truly blessed one. This is a couple is is beautiful inside and out, up and down. I am so honoured to have been a party of their day. Thank you both!

Cheers to you both and many, many more years of love, life, and adventure together.
